The Portofino Equestrian Center will be a full-service riding center catering to pleasure riding enthusiasts seeking professional care and instruction for both themselves and their horse.  Located in the upscale Portofino community, the riding center will offer not only professional care for your horse or pony with instruction for the rider, but a social gathering place for the equine enthusiast.   Equestrain trails (more than three miles now complete with another four miles in the next phase) run around and through the 300-acre site with access to and along the Neuse River.

Facilities will include a 22-stall barn with plenty of spacious paddocks and pastures for turnout.  In addition, an indoor arena, 80 ft. x 180 ft., will offer year-round riding opportunities with weather protection.  Outside facilities will include a 125 ft. x 300 ft. show ring and a 20 meter x 60 meter Dressage Ring.  Schooling areas will be provided for both rings.

Pastures with run-in sheds and paddocks are fenced by three-rail post and rail.  A beautiful pond will anchor the facility providing plenty of water for irrigating rings and paddocks.

Professionally managed, the Portofino Riding Center will offer training and instruction for beginners up to the most seasoned horse show exhibitor.  While the riding facilities are provided primarily for residents of Portofino, they are open to the community at large.  On-site events will be held and coaching and instruction will be provided for events held at the other locations.
