Portofino is located in Johnston County, North Carolina, approximately two miles outside of Clayton off NC 42 East. This location - in the heart of the Tar Heel State - is convenient for trips to the beautiful beaches on North Carolina’s coast (less than a two-hour drive) or to North Carolina’s scenic mountains (about a three-hour drive), which offer an abundance of recreational options.

Portofino is approximately 17 minutes to I-540, 20 minutes to Raleigh and 32 minutes to the Research Triangle Park (RTP). Interstates 95 and 40 and US 70 are also just minutes away making this area easily accessible and about halfway between New York and Florida.

Clayton, the fastest growing town in Johnston County, offers a small-town atmosphere mixed with suburban and rural living. This area’s schools are ranked among the state’s top schools. N.C. State University, UNC-Carolina, Duke University and N.C. Central are located close by as well as Johnston Community College and Wake Community College.
